Products with a long product life are both economical and sustainable.
Test specimen B203/14-Z-2 has impressively demonstrated the long product life of our SAERTEX-LINERs in a time-to-rupture internal pressure test by the test institute "IMA Materialforschung und Anwendungstechnik GmbH".
In order to be able to make statements about the technical service life, test specimens of a hardened pipe liner are subjected to varying internal pressures, and then the process waits until they fail. Failure must occur at different times. For example, at least one test specimen must withstand a certain internal pressure for more than 10,000 hours. This corresponds to a period of 13.8 months.
In order to create an even larger database, SAERTEX multiCom decided to let test specimen B203/14-Z-2 run for over 47,000 hours (well over five years). After that, the test was terminated due to construction work. Although an internal pressure of 48 bar was permanently applied to the DN 300 liner, no damage to the liner was found after the test was completed. Only corrosion and deposits have led to the fact that it no longer looks like it did on day one.
