SAERTEX multiCom LP celebrates groundbreaking for new manufacturing facility

04.12.2020

SAERTEX multiCom LP recently held a groundbreaking ceremony to officially launch construction of its new 113,000-squre-foot manufacturing facility in Huntersville, North Carolina. The company, which manufactures fiberglass-reinforced material used in trenchless UV cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) rehabilitation, has been operating in Huntersville since 2009. The new facility will allow the company to expand production capacity and add resin impregnation capability, something which had previously been outsourced. SAERTEX multiCom LP will retain 34 existing positions and add 45 new jobs over the next five years.

“Years ago, we recognized that the North American market for UV-cured pipeline rehabilitation is the largest in the world and that it was critical for us to have a US operation,” said Klaus Langenbach, managing director of SAERTEX multiCom LP. “This investment demonstrates our commitment to our customers and the industry. It will allow us to meet their needs more quickly and efficiently, develop new products, expand our training and service capabilities, and improve our logistics and warehousing operations.”

Construction at the site actually began in November 2020, and the project’s scheduled completion date is in Q3 of 2021. The project team includes Choate Construction, McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture, CBRE Project Management, OAK Engineering, and McVeigh & Mangum Engineering Inc.

“When I first started with the company, we were 15 employees and four machines. Over the years, we’ve seen huge growth with both our capabilities and capacities in the market as a whole,” said Matt Hoover, head of Production and Technical at SAERTEX multiCom’s Huntersville location. “It’s been a long-time coming, and I’m happy to see it’s finally here.”
